Tennessee
Building state organization in a state where the ballot is genuinely reachable.
We are building up the Prohibition Party in Tennessee, and you can help make it happen.
We are growing membership, developing state-level organization, looking for opportunities to run candidates for office, and preparing to qualify for the Tennessee ballot in the 2028 presidential election.
Get involved
We welcome people who are interested in building a better future for their communities. There are many ways to be useful as a member, from policy advocacy to organizing to campaign work.
Sign up as a member, or if you live in Tennessee and want to get involved in the state directly, write to party leadership at prohibitionists@gmail.com.
State and local candidates
Tennessee has some of the lowest ballot access requirements in the country. Candidates can get on the ballot for U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives, Governor, or the state legislature through the independent nominating petition process with a minimum of 25 valid signatures.
The petitioning window opens in early January, with a filing deadline in March. Future election years follow roughly the same calendar. Confirm current dates with the Tennessee Secretary of State before you begin.
We are looking for members willing to put in the work to run. If that could be you, email prohibitionists@gmail.com. For local office, check with your local election officials on the requirements first.
Preparing for 2028
To place our presidential ticket on the Tennessee ballot we will need at least 275 valid signatures and a slate of 11 electors: one in each of the state's nine congressional districts, plus two from anywhere in the state.
If you would volunteer as a signature gatherer or serve as an elector, email prohibitionists@gmail.com.
