Prohibition Party Character. Hope. Tradition.

Alaska

A recognized Political Group since 2025 and a certified Limited Political Party since 2026, with a ballot line for the 2028 presidential election.

Alaska is currently our furthest-along state, where the Prohibition Party has already won the right to hold a ballot line in 2028.

In November 2025 the party gained official recognition as a Political Group with the Alaska Division of Elections, so Alaskan voters can register their affiliation with the Prohibition Party and have it recorded in the state's voter rolls. In March 2026 the Division certified us as a Limited Political Party, the status that lets a party put a presidential ticket on the Alaska ballot. To appear on that ballot in 2028 we still need three Alaskans willing to serve as electors.

Alongside that we are building membership, looking for candidates, and working for good policy in the state.

Register your affiliation

If you live in Alaska, the single most useful thing you can do costs nothing: register as a Prohibitionist with the Alaska Division of Elections. Limited Political Party status covers the presidential ballot only. Registered affiliation is the number the state counts toward full recognized party status, which would put Prohibition Party candidates on the ballot for every office, not just President.

You can register or update your affiliation at voterregistration.alaska.gov if you hold an Alaska driver's license or state ID. Otherwise the Division of Elections has paper forms you can post, fax, or email to a regional office.

Get involved

We welcome anyone interested in building a better future for their community. There are many ways to help, from policy advocacy to organizing to campaign work.

Sign up as a member, or email party leadership at prohibitionists@gmail.com to talk about state-level organizing.

State and local candidates

Ballot access for U.S. Senate or the House of Representatives in Alaska involves a $100 filing fee and completing the required paperwork.

If you are a member interested in running for state or local office, email prohibitionists@gmail.com and we can discuss what a campaign would involve and the possibility of party endorsement.

Preparing for 2028

Limited Political Party status gives us the right to appear on the Alaska presidential ballot. Actually appearing on it takes one more thing: three qualified Alaskans willing to serve as electors.

That is not a formality. Alaska requires a Limited Political Party to name its electors, so without three names we have the right to a place on the ballot and no way to use it. Three people, one state, and the Prohibition Party is on the ballot for President in 2028.

If you would consider serving as an elector, email party chairman Zack Kusnir at zack.kusnir@prohibitionparty.org.

If you want to volunteer on campaigning in 2028, write to prohibitionists@gmail.com.
